#FirstWorldProblems

Regardless of where our economy is in the United States we are a first world country. Most people have a roof over their heads, running water and food in their stomachs. Per capita, we are the most technologically affluent country, and the most property-rich country.

We don’t think about what we would do as a church if we didn’t have a place to meet, or if the technology we are so used to was not available, because it is. We can meet in schools, hotel conference rooms or in public parks.

But what if it was all taken away?
Would our church survive?

What if we were not free to worship how we’ve grown accustomed? No building to meet in, no projectors for lyrics, no sound system, no lights. Would we still be a church?

We shouldn’t want to compete or model ourselves after other mega churches in the United States because they’re “cool”, but because they reflect a group of people reaching others, regardless of their haves or have nots.

The church is growing in third world countries without the bells and whistles.

What #firstworldproblems are keeping us from reaching people?
